These are two of Dr. Markiewicz’s favorite patients. Both had tumors of the lower jaw. Both underwent removal of part of their lower jaw. Both patients had bone borrowed from their lower leg to replace their lower jaw and give them back cosmetic form, function, and teeth (dental implants)
After surgery both patients were very active in sports, including tennis and martial arts and both were able to return to their normal activity with full participation in their normal sporting events.

Dr. Markiewicz uses microvascular and microneurosurgical techniques to restore form, function, and esthetics of patients with Cancer, congenital, and other defects.
He will use microvascular surgery to reconstruct hard and tissue defects of the head and neck. employing the most contemporary techniques. In the case of Oral Cancer this may include the simultaneous placement of dental implants and placement of a prosthesis (teeth) at the same time giving patient expeditious but quality care allowing them to return to their normal life style as soon as possible.
