Educated in both Medicine and Dentistry, and with the goal of becoming the most complete surgeon treating Children with congenital conditions and Adults with head and neck disorders, Dr. Markiewicz’s utmost priority was to obtain his training at centers for excellence and surrounding himself by the worlds foremost surgical educators in the fields of Oral and Maxillofacial, Head and Neck Oncologic, Reconstructive, and Pediatric Cleft and Craniofacial Surgery. After finishing my training, I was blessed to be recruited to Chicago and join a Department with leadership and partnerships my career and practice thrived under. I was able to treat a high volume of incredible patients affected by Head & Neck Cancer and Craniofacial Conditions. I built personal and professional relationships unlike anywhere else. Chicago is my second home. I was again blessed to be recruited back to Buffalo, accepting the position to Chair and lead the UB Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Leaving Chicago was one of the most difficult, yet exciting, professional and personal decisions I’ve had to make. I am excited to be back in my home town serving patients and families in the Northeastern United States.

Dr. Markiewicz performs Pediatric and Adult Cleft, Craniofacial , and orthognathic surgery at John R. Oishei Children's Hospital (OCH). Along with his partners Dr. Robert J. Perry, and Dr. Laurie S. Sadler, Dr. Markiewicz is Co-director of the ACPA approved Cleft and Craniofacial Team at OCH. OCH is a brand new children’s hospital, and still the only free standing children’s hospital in New York State.
Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center
Dr. Markiewicz performs Head & Neck Cancer and Reconstructive Surgery at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Markiewicz is fortunate to be a member of the Department of Head & Neck and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Head & Neck Cancer Team at Roswell Park.
